The Saskatoon Spinners and Weavers Guild is a non-profit organization founded in 1977. Our purpose is to promote the crafts of spinning, weaving, dyeing, felting, knitting, and associated fibre arts.
We are grateful to SK Arts and Sask Lotteries for providing our group with operational funding through the Professional Arts Organizations Program Grant. Since 2024 this funding has enabled us to maintain our rented guild space, and expand our equipment and program offerings.

Membership
Our members include professionals, artists, teachers, hobbyists and beginners. We encourage anyone interested in the fibre arts to join the SSWG. Membership benefits include access to the extensive SSWG library, equipment, programs, shows and sales, and a monthly newsletter with information about SSWG activities and other items of interest.
The SSWG also maintains membership in provincial, national and international arts groups, and members can take advantage of reduced rates at some of the events sponsored by these groups.

Meetings
Meetings typically include a short business update, an opportunity for members to share their current projects, a socializing period, and conclude with a featured program.
Sharing and Social Time is an opportunity for members to showcase their work, request feedback or help, and stay updated with the latest news.
Programs are a varied learning time usually presented by guild members, and may include slide shows, lectures, demonstrations and hands-on activities focused on activities related to the fibre arts.
Meetings are held from September to June, with a break during the summer months. Except for January through March, when meetings are held on Saturday afternoons, all other meetings are held on Thursday Evenings. The event calendar on this webpage, as well as our social media pages will confirm the dates and times each month.
