The Saskatoon Spinners and Weavers Guild is offering a basic weaving workshop at our studio location which is in the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) building at 600 – 45 Street West in Saskatoon. The cost of the class is $185.00 + PST = $197.11. There are additional materials fees – please see below for details.
Instructor Cathy Merkley will help you to create your own one of a kind scarf on a rigid heddle loom. Participants will learn how to warp the loom and weave a scarf from beginning to completion. You will select colours that complement your wardrobe while gaining an understanding of how colour choices influence the overall design and finished appearance of the scarf. By the end of the workshop each participant will have completed a one-of-a -kind scarf to take or wear home. Join us for an engaging and informative experience that offers fundamental weaving knowledge and practical skills you can confidently apply in future projects.
In addition to the class fee, there will be an additional charge for materials. There are rigid heddle looms available for use during the class. If you do not have your own rigid heddle, materials and rental fee is $40. If you do have a rigid heddle, the materials fee will be $30.
